Hamilton County, Indiana is America’s Best Place to Raise a Family according to Forbes.com. Hamilton County’s excellent school districts, population, property taxes and SAT scores were the main areas that Hamilton County reached the top Forbes list of 20 counties.
Ten data points were used to rank these 20 counties including cost of living, graduation rate, standardized scores, home price, property tax rate as a percentage of median home price, percentage of homes occupied by owner, per-capita income, air quality, crime rate and commute time.
“We are very pleased to be among the cities contributing to this recognition. All of the cities in Hamilton county work hard every day to make our country the best place to live, work and raise a family and having Forbes acknowledge this fact helps us attract companies and their employees which helps our economic development efforts,” said Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard.
